In a demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Brunei Darussalam has dispatched essential humanitarian aid to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, following a devastating earthquake that struck the country on 28 March 2025.
The relief supplies were delivered via a Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAF) aircraft on Friday, following the command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The handover ceremony took place at the Rimba Air Force Base and was attended by Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, and Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Bandar Seri Begawan Khin Sandar, Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) and the Myanmar Embassy were also present.

The humanitarian assistance underscores Brunei’s commitment to supporting nations in times of crisis, reinforcing regional cooperation and goodwill. The aid package includes essential supplies to assist affected communities in Myanmar as they recover from the disaster.
This initiative reflects Brunei’s longstanding tradition of extending humanitarian relief to countries in need, in line with His Majesty’s vision of fostering global solidarity and mutual aid.
